Background

The mountains have been my school. There, I learned how to walk, how to guide, and above all, how to respect their rhythm.

I was born in Huaraz and first climbed a snow-capped peak at nineteen, working as a porter on an expedition to Pisco. That’s when I understood that the hard part wasn’t reaching the summit, but reading both the mountain and the people: the wind, the snow, and the spirit of the group. I spent the following years training in the field alongside experienced guides across the range.

Since 2021, I hold my credential as an Official Tourism Guide specialized in high and medium mountain (License 499). Since then, I’ve completed over 150 ascents per mountain on peaks like Mateo and Pisco, as well as complete circuits in Huayhuash. On a glacier, the ratio decides everything: we climb with a maximum of 3 people per guide on glacier march climbs (Mateo, Ishinca, Vallunaraju, Pisco) and a maximum of 2 people per guide on technical climbs and 6,000m+ peaks (Yanapaccha, Tocllaraju, Chopicalqui, Huascarán, Alpamayo).

I know that stepping onto a glacier can feel intimidating. That’s why my priority and that of every guide on our team is giving you patience and confidence at every step: you will never be rushed or scolded; we always follow and respect your pace, bringing charisma and good humor so you truly enjoy the climb. If you arrive without the necessary acclimatization days, we’ll tell you honestly before taking your money.

How we work

Patience, confidence, and safety that aren't negotiable

Every official guide on our team follow these three principles on every trip.

01

Patience, charisma, and respect for your pace

If it's your first time at altitude or you feel nervous on snow, you will never be rushed or scolded. We follow your pace step by step with confidence and good humor so you enjoy the climb.

02

Strict glacier ratio: 2 to 3 climbers per guide

On glacier march climbs (Mateo, Ishinca, Vallunaraju, Pisco) we take at most 3 people per guide. On technical climbs and 6,000m+ peaks (Yanapaccha, Tocllaraju, Chopicalqui, Huascarán, Alpamayo) the maximum is 2 people per guide.

03

Acclimatization and safe turnaround times first

The turnaround time is set before ascending and always respected. If you arrive without the recommended altitude days, we tell you before charging and suggest a preparatory hike first.
