General Terms & Conditions
This document establishes the contractual conditions governing all bookings for mountain expeditions, summit ascents, multi day treks, and day trips operated by Delta Peru Adventures based in Huaraz, Áncash, Peru.
1. Reservations and Payment
To secure a reservation, an advance deposit of 50% of the total cost is required. The remaining balance (50%) must be settled prior to departure in Huaraz (via cash, card, or bank transfer as arranged). No booking is confirmed until the deposit is received.
2. Nature & Inherent Alpine Risks
Mountaineering, glacier crossings, and high-altitude trekking in the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash involve inherent wilderness hazards (sudden weather changes, extreme altitudes over 4,000m to 6,000m, rock/snowfall, and freezing temperatures). Participants freely and knowingly assume these inherent natural risks.
3. Authority of the Mountain Guide
The official lead mountain guide (Official Tourism Guide specialized in high and medium mountain) holds absolute technical and safety authority over the group. The guide reserves the non-delegable right to adjust the itinerary, modify summit push hours, or mandate an immediate descent for any participant if physical condition, altitude sickness, or severe weather dictates. Their decision is final and binding.
4. Acclimatization & Medical Disclosure
Participants are required to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions (cardiac, pulmonary, allergies, current medication) before departure. For high-mountain climbs, completing recommended acclimatization days in Huaraz (minimum 2 to 3 days of progressive hikes) is mandatory.
5. Travel & Mountain Evacuation Insurance
All participants must carry a valid travel and mountain rescue insurance policy that includes medical expenses, emergency search, and helicopter evacuation up to the maximum altitude of the chosen expedition. Delta Peru Adventures does not cover personal hospitalization or third-party evacuation fees.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
All voluntary cancellations, force majeure, and weather conditions are strictly governed by our Cancellation Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms and conditions.
7. Applicable Law & Jurisdiction
Any legal dispute arising from tourism services provided will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru and submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Huaraz, Áncash, Peru.
